Step Mum Soul Space
I created these free meditations and resources for anyone navigating the tender, complicated edges of stepfamily life.
As a stepmum myself, I know how easily the nervous system can tip into worry or overwhelm, and how often we slip away to a quiet room to catch our breath. I created these recordings are an offering of support, warmth, and understanding for myself initially but I recognised others could benefit. They are shaped by my work in mindfulness and by my own lived experience of trying to hold everything together in blended family life with a soft heart.
Meditation for Preparing to Welcome Stepchildren
This meditation guides stepmums into a grounded, centred place before the children arrive. It supports the steadying of the nervous system and eases the tension or worry that can build in the hours or day before transition. Through gentle breathing, grounding imagery, and affirming inner dialogue, the listener is invited to settle their energy, reconnect with their values, and step into the upcoming time with calm presence and emotional steadiness. The meditation encourages self-trust, anchors the body, and helps the listener meet the moment with softness and clarity.

Meditation for Moments of Isolation or Overwhelm
This meditation offers comfort during times when a stepmum feels alone, unseen, or emotionally overloaded and retreats to a quiet space (such as the bedroom) for a moment of peace. It creates a safe inner refuge where she can release tension, breathe deeply, and reconnect with her own needs. Through soothing guidance, loving kindness phrases, and imagery that creates spaciousness around difficult emotions, the meditation helps her meet herself with compassion, tenderness, and acceptance. The aim is to restore a sense of ease, belonging, and emotional warmth, reminding her that she is worthy of care and that it is safe to rest.

The Circles of Influence for Stepparents
I made this visual as a gentle reminder for all of us: we don’t have to hold everything. Some things are outside our control, some things we can influence, and some things are fully ours to choose.
💚 The outer circle holds what we cannot control (like an ex-partner’s choices or custody schedules).
💙 The middle circle shows what we can influence (like the home atmosphere or family routines).
💚 And at the heart is the circle of control, where our true power lives, our reactions, boundaries, self-care, and the language we choose.
It’s not about perfection, but about giving ourselves permission to focus on what’s really ours, and letting the rest soften its grip.
